Seth’s Backstage Interview

Raw – May 23rd (Opening Segment)
Seth enters the ring to a huge roar of applause as predicted and he stands in the ring soaking in the chants of “Welcome Back!” He asks the crowd if they missed him (we all know the answer to that) and they roar loudly again. He tells the crowd that after 7 long months they have to let him talk because he has been waiting for this moment as well. After the video package plays of Rollins’s surprise attack on Roman Reigns, the crowd erupts into another chant, this time “thank you Rollins”. Seth comments that it is very strange for the crowd to be cheering for him because they weren’t when he attacked Roman Reigns with a steel chair (effectively ending the Shield), when he won the belt they were calling him the weakest champion and for months people begged for people to beat him (even though no one ever could).

Seth recalls how sadly his knee gave out months ago and makes one of the most honest quotes in recent Raw history saying, “My knee buckled under the weight of carrying this company for SO FREAKING LONG!” Continuing his story, Seth recalls receiving flowers and messages of get well Rollins in his hospital bed and tells the crowd that he took all those messages, threw them in a bin and burned them. He makes it clear he doesn’t need to the support of the WWE Universe and never did. “Because there is only room on the Seth Rollins bandwagon for one man, and that man is me.”

Roman Reigns eventually interrupts Seth’s match and just when it looks like a fight might break out at ringside, Seth walks away saying he will only do that on his time because it’s his show. Shane O’Mac enters next and makes the big announcement that Rollins will indeed receive a title match and that he’s sure Roman will understand that. Seth is extremely happy with the decision and we will see the two face off at Money In The Bank!

Backstage Interview with Renee
Seth tells Renee that this time at Money In The Bank he gets to win the WWE Championship not because he’s Mr. MITB but because he is Seth Rollins and he is that damn good. He then gets an extremely excited expression upon seeing Stephanie McMahon beyond the camera field. He goes for a big hug on his old authority buddy but she rejects him. A confused Seth gets told that things are different around here now and so is their business relationship. Stephanie shakes his hand to welcome him back and Rollins with a slightly disgusted face simply says ok and stares after her. This would be the last of Seth Rollins we see on this edition of Raw but we will see him next on ESPN’s Sportscenter for his interview with The Coach.

Seth Makes His Long-Awaited Return & Takes out Roman Reigns
Just when Roman Reigns thought everything was over and he could rise to his feat after a lengthy battle with AJ Styles, Seth Rollins made his comeback and as he always does – he made an impact. Rollins took out the still Champion with forceful pedigree and stared the camera down with a glare on his face that made his feelings perfectly clear. He then gazed down at Reigns and picked up the title he never lost to hold it up high for the camera as the PPV went off air.

He didn’t have too say a single word and we all know his feelings. It will be awesome to see what is to come from the newly return Seth Rollins. Welcome Back Seth!

Seth’s Road to Survivor Series Starts off Rocky
If this 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Match was any indication, Survivor Series itself is going to be a long, long night for Seth Rollins. Despite assembling a squad of four champions in Kevin Owens and the full-strength New Day, The Architect’s team fell to the Roman Reigns–captained cadre of Dean Ambrose, Ryback and — surprise! — the returning Usos in the traditional, 5-on-5 elimination-rules rumble that made up Raw’s main event.
Disaster struck out of the gate for Team Rollins when Jey Uso pinned Xavier Woods and Jimmy followed up by eliminating Kofi Kingston. That just left the three former NXT Champions, who quickly evened things up when Big E and Owens beat an Uso apiece. Ryback took out a rampaging Big E with Shell Shocked next and Rollins replied with a Pedigree that ousted The Big Guy. But an errant knee from Rollins landed KO in Ambrose’s Dirty Deeds and left The Architect all alone against his old buddies. He escaped decimation by swinging a steel chair to eat a disqualification, which might have been his best course of action. Sometimes survival means living to fight another day, but those other days are running out fast.

Seth Rollins Celebrates & Meets his New Match
Stephanie McMahon & Triple H are thrilled to be kicking off Raw after Seth’s victory at Hell In A Cell. The victorious Champ is pleased as well. Seth shares a big congratulatory hug with HHH and is happily declaring there’s simply no one left for him to face.
Well with every party, comes a party pooper and enter Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns has something to say about Seth’s declaration & defiant in saying he should receive the chance. The authority though wants to make a challenger prove their worth and arranges for a series of matches on the nights show to determine who will truly deserve to face Rollins.

In the end it turns out to be Ziggler, Owens, Reigns & Alberto Del Rio who earn their spot in the main event match. A fantastic match with the champ on commentary culminates with Roman indeed standing tall at the end of the night. He engages in a stare down with Rollins, or tries to as the cocky Champion laughs at him confidently but clutches his belt just a bit closer. He then taps the belt and exits.

Seth Rollins causes Corporate Kane to Lose his Job
The Authority should be receiving a flood of résumé as Corporate Kane has been relieved of his duties as WWE Director of Operations, following Demon Kane’s defeat at the hands of World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins at WWE Hell in Cell.

Once charged with protecting the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Kane was Rollins’ ally under The Authority’s umbrella until the Director of Operations was betrayed by The Architect and sidelined with an injury. When Kane returned at Night of Champions and attacked Rollins, he did so as Demon Kane. In the weeks leading up to Hell in a Cell, Rollins was left to deal with the seemingly split personalities of Corporate Kane and Demon Kane. Needless to say, there was no love lost between The Architect and either Kane.
When the opening bell sounded, Rollins got into his opponent’s masked face, convincing himself Corporate Kane and Demon Kane were one and the same. The Big Red Monster didn’t take kindly to Rollins’ jawing, or his subsequent a push, and began to quickly and efficiently tear apart the WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Rollins managed to remain resilient and found a perfect opening to knock Demon Kane off the top rope, solidifying his newfound momentum with a jaw-dropping flip over the ropes and to the outside of the ring. Fully aware of his opponent’s size and strength advantage, the champion began a methodical offense that kept Demon Kane grounded.
In an effort to build an advantage, The Architect targeted The Demon’s leg, but the 18-year squared circle veteran kept the intensity of the match intact as the WWE Universe inside the STAPLES Center slid to the collective edge of its seat, watching both Superstars battle back and forth. Countering a Pedigree, Demon Kane executed a chokeslam, nearly securing the pinfall. Escaping a Tombstone following the near-fall, the battle spilled beyond the confines of the ring into the announce area.
Attempting to send Rollins into a world of pain, The Demon tried to chokeslam the champion through the U.S. commentators’ announce table. With his unparalleled reflexes and agility, Rollins slid through his opponent’s legs and power-bombed him onto the Spanish announce table. Reeling from the counterattack, The Big Red Monster barely made it back to the ring before the referee’s 10-count.

Back inside the squared circle, Rollins remained in control, unleashing a flurry of knee strikes – each one taking the 7-foot Superstar off his feet. A gravity-defying Frog Splash brought the WWE Universe to its feet, certain that it would be enough to secure victory.
The impact of the Frog Splash wasn’t enough to extinguish the fire of Demon Kane, and it looked almost as though the tables had turned once more as The Big Red Monster rose, gripping Rollins by the throat . Once again, the cat-like reflexes of the WWE World Heavyweight Champion came into play, and he countered the chokeslam and seized the opportunity to execute The Pedigree to retain the championship.
The City of Angels was kind to Seth Rollins as he left the STAPLES Center with the WWE World Heavyweight Championship still around his waist. Although Demon Kane lost the match , it was ultimately Corporate Kane who was the real loser – being relieved of his duties as WWE Director of Operations.
