Kane def. Seth Rollins
Once upon a time, Kane was Seth Rollins’ bodyguard, backup and Director of Operations. These days, he’s Rollins’ tormentor.
Minutes after ruthlessly attacking SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan (another former ally), The Devil’s Favorite Demon showed no mercy to Rollins in a singles bout on Raw. Kane all but shut out The Kingslayer’s offense save for a late stretch that stymied The Big Red Machine momentarily, or at least until Cesaro & Sheamus jumped Dean Ambrose at ringside, causing Rollins to take his eye off the ball.

The Architect paid for his distraction with a Chokeslam that cost him the match, and a 3-on-2 assault of The Shield by Kane and The Bar nearly cost him much more than that, as The Big Red Machine administered a ruthless Tombstone to Ambrose. When Rollins attempted to crawl atop his partner to protect him, The Devil’s Favorite Demon Tombstoned him as well.

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose & AJ Styles def. The Bar & The Miz
Kurt Angle starts off Raw tonight with a thank you to the WWE Universe and says last night was a dream come true for him, a new chapter in his WWE career. Angle also announces some matches for Survivor Series, including Seth & Dean vs. The Usos (Tag Team Champs vs. Tag Team Champs match) Before he continue for long though, The Miz interrupts the General Manager. As the Miz threatens Kurt Angle, Seth & Dean make their own entrance and quickly surround the ring to protect Kurt Angle. Kurt announces a match tonight between The Miz and The Bar vs. Seth/Dean and a guest who decided to stay another night – AJ Styles.

The match was largely a back and forth contest of wills, with Seth starting off the match and facing Sheamus. As the match goes on things break down in the ring when everyone starts getting involved at once, similar to the TLC match the previous night. At one point, Seth, Dean and AJ all leap over the top rope onto their opponents. With Seth and Dean taking out nearly everyone near the end of the match with their twin suicide dives, AJ is able to secure the win for the team easily. However, a unexpected guest would arrive and ruin a bit of the celebration. Kane helps the opposition beat down Seth’s team and Seth finds himself on the wrong end of a chokeslam. The Big Red Monster angrily glares over at a fallen Seth Rollins as the segment goes off air.

The SmackDown Locker Room Attacks
At the end of the show, the Raw GM Kurt Angle got an unexpected surprise as Shane McMahon enters through the crowd in the arena with much of the SmackDown locker room in tow. Kurt Angle realizes the trouble and takes off running as Shane tells the locker room to “go get them.” The SmackDown locker room charges through the backstage area and attacks everyone in sight, moving room to room. Around one corner Seth Rollins waits on top of a TV case and jumps down onto a couple superstars, as Dean Ambrose swings with a chair. Both quickly get overwhelmed by the size of the onslaught and we never do find out who will be on the Raw Survivor Series team.

TLC Kick-Off Show Interview
We get a short interview with Seth & Dean on the pre-show where they look exceptionally confident. Seth and Dean are unsure what Kurt Angle has to bring to the table, but Dean says it doesn’t matter if he has nothing left, when he comes to the ring with The Shield he will give it his all. They also refuse to reveal their strategy on a pre-show. Seth is also questioned on how he “contains” Dean Ambrose. Seth chuckles and replies that “you don’t contain it, you unleash it.” Seth says that Dean is in his element with these matches.

Seth/Dean & Kurt Angle Backstage Segment
We finally see Seth and Dean approach Kurt Angle in the locker room area. Kurt immediately tells the two that he will give them everything he has left. Seth and Dean reply that they did not come to discuss strategy. They tell Angle “we came to give you this,” and hold out a vest. Angle takes the vest looking extremely happy as Dean and Seth leave the locker room.

Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose & Kurt Angle def. The Miz, Braun Strowman, The Bar & Kane
It wasn’t just the vest, or the fact that he entered the ring through the crowd with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins. Kurt Angle, acting as an “honorary member of The Shield” in his first WWE match in 11 years, proved as natural a fit for The Hounds of Justice as the sidelined Roman Reigns in the epic 5-on-3 Handicap Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match that pit the impromptu trio against the all-star squad of The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Braun Strowman & Kane, helping guide the brothers in black to a winning effort in the chaotic match.

Despite being on the short end of the contest’s handicap, Angle leaned heavily into the first of his legendary Three I’s (“Intensity”) in his early offense while Ambrose & Rollins threw caution to the wind by leaping off of ladders with a Frog Splash-elbow drop combo that drove Strowman and Kane through the announce tables. Angle singlehandedly took his opponents apart with suplexes to Miz and Cesaro and an Ankle Lock attempt to Kane, but rust still turned The Olympic Hero into the de facto weak link of the group. That made him ripe pickings for Strowman, who thinned The Shield’s ranks by hitting him with a Running Powerslam through a table that brought out a crew of trainers to take Angle to the back.

With a 5-on-2 advantage, the only thing that could have stopped Miz’s crew at this point was themselves — and it seemed like that would happen when Kane accidentally blasted Strowman with a chair, setting off an intense showdown between the two dominant big men. Miz quickly got his team back on track, bringing in a garbage truck to literalize his pre-match promise to treat The Shield and Angle like “garbage.”
Ambrose & Rollins managed to fight out of the truck’s bed and prepared to take Kane out with a double suplex through a table, which Strowman quickly broke up … and The Big Red Machine paid Braun back by chokeslamming him through the stage and releasing a deluge of chairs from the ceiling onto him. Strowman soon stirred to life, but with a loose cannon among them, The Miz, The Bar and Kane had no choice but to throw The Monster Among Men into the garbage truck, close the bed on him and have him driven away.

Still sitting pretty at 4-on-2, The Miz and his cohorts were all but certain to walk away victorious, with The Big Red Machine inches from Tombstoning Ambrose into the dirt. And then Angle returned with a glint in his eye and ice in his veins. The four-time WWE Champion singlehandedly dismantled The Bar with a pair of Angle Slams — Cesaro’s through a table — while Ambrose & Rollins took Kane out with a double Spear through the barricade.

The Miz, now left alone with his General Manager, showed unexpected grit by administering a Skull-Crushing Finale for a two-count and then escaping an Ankle Lock. But when the Raw Tag Team Champions returned to circle The A-Lister, what came next was all but a foregone conclusion: Ripcord Knee, Dirty Deeds, and Angle Slam, followed by a ring-shaking Triple Powerbomb with Angle covering Miz for the pinfall.
Seventeen years to the day after winning his first WWE Title in this same building, Kurt Angle has returned, and in a match where Ambrose & Rollins vowed to go out on their shields, your Olympic Hotel-Echo-Romeo-Oscar instead rode to glory on his. Oh, it’s true.

The Shield Addresses Their Opponents
The Shield may have formalized their reunion last week with their trademark fist bump, but for the first time in three years, Raw opened with the crackle of “Sierra, Hotel, India… ” and the sight of Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns donning black and marching through the audience to surround someone in the ring — in this case, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle, who quickly turned over the mic and made his exit.

It was awesome (as the WWE Universe chanted), and if there were any concerns that The Hounds of Justice had lost a step, they immediately launched into a scorched-earth proclamation to pick up right where they left off at WWE TLC. And even though Ambrose’s tough talk inadvertently got Braun Strowman added to the upcoming TLC Match last week, The Lunatic Fringe only doubled down on his resolve — he reiterated that The Shield could take on any number of opponents and challenged their TLC foes to throw down on the spot.

The Miz, Braun Strowman and The Bar came to the stage to oblige, but Angle got between the two squadrons, reminding them that The Bar would challenge Ambrose & Rollins for the Raw Tag Team Titles and Strowman would battle The Big Dog in a Steel Cage Match tonight. It was enough to stop the fists from flying, but there’ll be no such restraint on anyone’s part come Sunday.

Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose vs. Sheamus & Cesaro
Perhaps it was the thrill of being back in black, but Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins were even more rabid than usual in a successful retention of the Raw Tag Team Titles against Cesaro & Sheamus, whose opportunity had only been sanctioned hours earlier.

After getting taken out early, The Lunatic Fringe re-entered the match like a house on fire in relief of Rollins, who had been neutralized for a stretch. The Bar upped the ante with Ambrose running rampant, mixing both smarts (Cesaro wisely avoided another slingshot into the ropes) and power (Sheamus hoisted Ambrose up for a Cesaro springboard uppercut). But Rollins provided the final boost for his brother, rushing the match and instigating a brawl that The Lunatic Fringe closed out with Dirty Deeds to The King of Swing for the victory.

Main Event Mayhem Backstage & Roman Reigns is def. by Strowman

Raw General Manager Kurt Angle banned The Miz, The Bar and The Shield from ringside to prevent outside interference and preserve the integrity of Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman in a Steel Cage, a match that would determine the complexion of the big TLC Match on Sunday. But he didn’t say anything about inside interference, and now Strowman’s victory expands The Shield’s opponents from four to five as a result.

To be fair, the rival teams ignored Angle’s initial decree as well, rushing the cage despite the General Manager’s orders. The Miz’s crew struck first, with The Bar cutting Roman off at the pass when he tried to escape the cage after momentarily felling Strowman. The Shield quickly neutralized the interference, but The Monster Among Men hauled Reigns over the cage right into a superplex, and when the brawl between The Shield and The Bar continued into the parking lot, Miz himself locked them out of the arena by closing the door of the loading dock.

Reigns managed to fight his way back into contention by hitting Strowman with three Superman Punches and a Spear, but the tide quickly turned when the arena plunged into red light and Kane rose from beneath the ring to administer two bone-rattling chokeslams to the former WWE Champion. Strowman followed up with a Running Powerslam, The Big Red Monster piled on with a Tombstone, and a second Running Powerslam from The Gift of Destruction earned the decisive pinfall and expanded his squadron by one for Sunday in the process. And, as Miz informed the WWE Universe, in case that wasn’t enough of a hint, The Devil’s Favorite Demon was, indeed, his final teammate for WWE TLC. Dean Ambrose said The Shield could take on five opponents and win. The Hounds of Justice are about to be put to that exact test.

The Shield Interrupts Miz TV
Miz and his group of goons are starting off Raw & Miz is handing out his awards when Roman Reigns finally has enough of his jeering and appears on the entrance ramp. The Miz mocks Roman and the fact he is standing on the ramp “all alone.” The Miz makes reference to the rumoured Shield reunion, to which Roman replies “Rumours? What Rumour?” At that statement the crowd begins to get hyped and Dean Ambrose appears, then Seth Rollins appears with his music screaming “Burn it Down!” All three men pause as the crowd roars in excitement and then start towards the ring with ambition. The three split up to surround the ring. The attack leaves the Miz hiding for cover outside the ring, before his found and retrieved for a triple power-bomb. The Shield stand proudly in their signature pose, leaving a path of destruction laying around them.

*Announcement made that the Shield will face the Miz, Cesaro and Sheamus at TLC

The Shield Destroy Braun Strowman
The Shield’s handiwork was not complete with just one destructive attack tonight though, as they would confront Braun after his match with Matt Hardy. The Shield stops Braun at the top of the ramp and they all stare each other down. Braun doesn’t back down and heads straight for Roman Reigns. All three men pounce and drag Strowman over to the announce desk. With a huge three man effort, Braun also gets a triple power-bomb for his effort.
Backstage following the commercial break, all three men (particularly Seth Rollins in this segment as he has a huge smirk he can’t wipe off the whole time) are confident about their chances at TLC!

*Later announced in Kurt Angle’s office – Braun Strowman is now in the TLC match
