The Shield vs. Wyatts
Seth starts off the match strong with 360 dives off each side of the ring taking out both Harper and Rowan. He goes top rope to catch Bray Wyatt but Ambrose gets involve. Seth takes a spill when he doesn’t catch his balance due to the interference in the momentum of the match.
Seth is still in the ring after first commercial and is getting wore down after his fall (and being tossed into the ringside barricade). He is unable to make immediate tag as Ambrose and Roman are occupied arguing outside of the ring.
When Ambrose does get in the match he fights like a wild man as Roman reigns tosses Harper around outside the ring and into the time keepers area. Rowan makes a tag to Bray and Ambrose takes a hard slam straight to his back. He fights back into the match up with a figure four but continues to get beat down by Rowan. Harper comes in off a tag and he takes a hard hit from Ambrose via a clothesline but still tries to hold onto Ambrose’s foot.

Ambrose crawls desperately to make a tag but Seth on the apron backs away and refuses to make a tag. He starts heading up the entrance ramp as Reigns follows looking bewildered. Roman yells “what are you doing?” and Seth replies that he can’t be the glue that holds this thing together. Seth tells Roman “you two figure it out!” and refuses to re-enter the match. Roman then runs back to save the match up. He and Ambrose team together to hold Harper for the Reigns’s massive boot to strike his head. Ambrose with wild fists tries to keep Bray Wyatt down. An angry Roman Reigns takes out Rowan over top of the announce table. He gets up and is sent flying by Harper over the announce desk again. In the end Dean Ambrose is overpowered and the Shield suffers a devastating loss in more ways than one.

Seth watches from the entrance ramp looking angry and frustrated at the loss. He stares at the ground looking completely upset and dejected.
Following the show on Backstage Fallout Reigns and Ambrose are approached stalking the hallway looking for Seth. They question his whereabouts and both look very angry. Could this be the end of the hounds of justice?

Behind The Shield: Chicago wrestler comes home

By Ted Gruber For RedEye
6:06 p.m. CST, March 2, 2014

So you want to be a professional wrestler?
Take it from Seth Rollins, who has jumped through more rings than you can count, that it’s a long road. But after years of driving from his hometown in Iowa to the Berwyn Eagles Club, Rollins has made it to the big leagues of pro wrestling.
The 27-year-old former Chicago resident spoke to RedEye about the WWE, his time on the local wrestling circuit and what the Windy City means to him.

You had a couple of years in the WWE’s NXT development organization and finally got the call-up and formed The Shield in November 2012. What was it like when you headed up to the main WWE roster?
I think the couple of years in developmental was really starting to get me impatient. It’s not a bad thing that you get that mindset because you want to be on the main roster and working with the top guys. I spent a lot of time on the independent scene honing my craft, so I thought I was ready from day one. But the time I spent in NXT was the best things that could happen in my career. It gave me the mindset that I could succeed at the highest level.
When it was time to get called up and The Shield was ready to make an impact, I was nervous, excited, but most importantly prepared for [it]. I think that preparation and confidence came across well in front of the WWE universe.

“WWE Raw” hits Chicago on Monday and this is your second home. How has Chicago helped your career?
It’s pretty surreal. With our schedules there isn’t a lot of opportunities to sit back and smell the roses, as they say. Every time I come back to Chicago it’s just amazing the support I have. It’s amazing to think I was in the Berwyn Eagles Club in Berwyn for [All American Wrestling]. Coming back to the area I feel like I’m on the top of the world. It’s a very satisfying feeling that I get to now wrestle in front of the biggest crowds each and every day. The crowds here are always awesome, and they have all treated me with such respect and class. It’s just very special to me.
There’s always an electric buzz about this city. There’s some kind of energy that nobody can figure out, but there it adds a little extra pressure to exceed expectations. The butterflies will be there for sure on Monday.

You were the second wrestler in the ring at the Royal Rumble and almost won. Now that you have gained exposure as a singles competitor, what could be in the future for Wrestlemania for you?
The Rumble was amazing. To be in the match that long and being part of that list that not many appear on is very humbling and satisfying. I would have liked to gotten the W, but I did my best. I think I made a big impact and was very proud of my performance.
Heading into Wrestlemania, it’s the most exciting time of the year. Right now I don’t know the plans yet for The Shield or myself but I know there will be an impact made. With so many things going on right now leading up to the big show at New Orleans there’s that little extra self-push that wants you to put on the very best match each and every night.

Many have said you have the talent to become an individual star in the WWE. In five years, where do you see yourself?
Five years? I see myself as world champion. If you were in my position and you aren’t saying that, something is wrong with you. I want to be holding a title, beating up John Cena and Randy Orton and headlining pay-per-views. I have the confidence and drive and those goals would be satisfying.

What are your thoughts on the new WWE network?
For me, first and foremost I am a fan. I logged in a few days ago and it’s amazing, you can’t put it any way else. I am scrolling through the old PPVs [pay-per-views], looking at the Eddie Guerrero matches from Judgment Day and I did everything on my phone. It’s a revolutionary step going forward and will change the way the business model is formed in the next century. This is the next big step and this is something that will continue to grow each and every day.
With all the old NXT shows there will be plenty of my matches I can go back and watch as well, to relive those “rookie” days. I think in the near future you could see a section of just Seth Rollins.

John and Luke Efting of Cedar Rapids just discovered they have something in common with WWE wrestler Seth Rollins.

They all get nervous.

“I get butterflies before all my matches. You know that little feeling in your belly when you get really nervous? It never goes away, even when you get as old as me, it never goes away,” Rollins, a native of the tiny town of Buffalo, just southeast of Davenport on the Mississippi, told the boys over the phone on Thursday afternoon.

John and Luke – twin 10 year old professional wrestling fans – had that same “kind of butterflies” feeling while they waited for the phone to ring with Rollins on the other line.

John felt “a little nervous, but it got better once I started talking to him.”

“It just got normal,” Luke added.

If normal is talking to one of your idols on the phone while your classmates are taking a math test? Yup. Totally normal.

Along with Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose, Rollins is one third of The Shield, a professional wrestling trio that debuted in 2012.

They are on the ticket Saturday for WWE Live Road to Wrestlemania at the U.S. Cellular Center. The Shield with take on Big Show in a 3 on 1 handicap match. Also wrestling will be Daniel Bryan versus Kane and a six man tag team match with Sheamus and The Usos versus Bray Wyatt and The Wyatt Family.

Growing up in Iowa made him the man he is today, Rollins told the twins.

“I think growing up in this area with the kind of people that live around here, the personality in the region, … made me a little more humble, made me a little more friendly, helped me kind of in my interactions with people,” he says. “I really do think growing up in a small town in Iowa was beneficial as far as helping me develop who I was as a person.”

Rollins may fight for a living. But, anyone who tells two 10-year-olds: “I got all day for you guys, ask as many questions as you want…” that’s definitely Iowa nice.

No match for the hounds this week on SmackDown but the three were backstage having a discussion about their recent match losses. Dean is blamed for the losses but Seth quickly takes control of the situation. Yelling “ZIP IT” ,he quickly gets the attention of his cohorts and gets everyone pumped up to face the Wyatts in the ring. They refuse to let Bray Wyatt just move on from them.

The Shield nearly interrupts the end of Bray Wyatts promo and stand facing their rivals. Triple H enters and informs everyone he will not let this match just happen again “right here right now”. He announces the Shield will face the Wyatts once more on Monday Night Raw. Triple H tells the Shield to stand down before leaving.

Dean and Seth have other ideas as they both perform running dives onto Harper and Rowan. They run back to the ring, where Bray refuses to confront them and instead backs off.
