SmackDown Digitals: Seth’s Busy SD Night

Seth Rollins has a very busy night on SmackDown first, coming out to confront Dean Ambrose (who is in the process of revealing the stipulation for their upcoming match at SummerSlam). Having finished rambling off a list of stipulations that he would consider Dean finally says “because if you try to run, you’ll run into a wall of bodies.” He tells Seth they made a lot of enemies together and those same people will ensure no one gets out. An unfazed Seth replies that it doesn’t matter what happens at SummerSlam because he still has this (holding up the briefcase) and having the briefcase means he is the future of the company. Seth also adds that he has been granted the power by the authority to pick Dean Ambrose’s opponent tonight. He says “a man so cold, so ruthless that he had the power to do this..” A video plays of Randy Orton decimating Roman Reigns on Raw.

Later on backstage, Dolph Ziggler and assorted roster members are watching the video of Seth’s briefcase being decimated, when a not impressed Seth appears to stare down Dolph. The two exchange some heated looks as Dolph insults Seth’s hair and his “superhero” gear. Seth tells Dolph that he’s sure the authority wouldn’t mind him picking his own match for the night. Dolph asks him if that’s a challenge and Seth replies back “you bet your ass that is.”

Seth Rollins vs. Dolph Ziggler
As in previous contests between the two this match is a back and forth battle of willpower. Seth takes control in the early going tossing Ziggler around the ring and attempting to wear him down. Suplexes are exchanged and Seth keeps control with a grounded headlock. Dolph attempts to crawl to his feet as Seth happily stands proud of his work. Dolph does manage to mount some offense with an impressive drop-kick but he’s shut down after with a stiff boot the head from Seth. Various high flying moves go back and forth but ultimately it’s Seth gaining the clean victory with his curb-stomp.

Sending a Message to Ambrose
Seth re-appears during Dean Ambrose’s match in the main event, yanking him out of the ring just as he is about to get the win. He beats on Ambrose and causes a DQ. Following the exchange of blows and an RKO from Randy Orton Ambrose lays motionless in the ring. Seth adds a good stomp on his chest for extra measure and leaves the ring to grab a soda from a ringside fan. He goes back into the ring yelling at Ambrose “you this is funny? You think this is a game?!” He pours the soda all over Dean’s face then hoists him up for a final blow – his dangerous curb stomp.

Raw Digitals: Seth Rollins vs. Heath Slater

Seth Rollins vs. Heath Slater (Beat the Clock Challenge)
The authority starts off Raw and has some big SummerSlam plans, it is announced that Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins will participate in a beat the clock challenge. Whoever wins with the shortest time on the clock gets to choose the stipulation for their much anticipated SummerSlam battle.
Seth is orginally scheduled to fight RVD but a last minute announcement switches the veteran with Heath Slater. Seth laughs at the change and basically treats Heath Slater like a joke. He tries to negotiate and convince Slater just simply get counted out or lay down and allow him to win. Slater doesn’t have any negotiations and fires back at Seth. An angry Rollins goes after Slater yelling “you had your chance!” He slams Slater to the mat and takes control of the match and beats him down with boots in the corner. It seems as though Seth has the match completely under his control when Ambrose shows up ringside. Seth yells “look how much time I have left!”

Dean simply shrugs his shoulders and motions to the ring, suggesting Rollins should go ahead and finish the match. Seth goes back to his work briefly but quickly gets distracted as Ambrose snatches up his briefcase. As Seth tries to continue on the match, Dean snatches the contract paper and rips into pieces. He then causally grabs a soda from a ringside fan and drinks some sips. He then decides the rest of the drink belongs in the briefcase and pours it in as Rollins gets worked up watching. During the moments of distraction Slater tries to pin and later roll up Seth and nearly succeeds on both attempts. The briefcase mayhem continues as Ambrose pours popcorn into the case and snatches up JBL’s hat. Dean models the hat and then decides this too belongs in the briefcase. Having filled the case up he stands on the table and swings it around.
In the end the constant distraction gets Rollins off his game and Slater catches a quick win on him!
An astonished Rollins can hardly believe his eyes but his disbelief turns to anger as he stalks over to the announce table and grabs the briefcase. He throws a temper tantrum, hitting the desk and throwing a nearby chair. He dumps out the contents of the briefcase and growls off the back.
On Raw Fallout he is still angry about having to clean up his briefcase.
All of us will have to stay tuned to see what Ambrose decides is the stipulation for this SummerSlam Match-up.

*Admin Note: Due to the brief vacation I went on this week, I hadn’t got a chance to post the Raw Recap for this week. Here it is as promised along with this weeks SmackDown recap! Sorry for the delay on that one this week.

SmackDown Digitals: Rollins & Kane vs. Ambrose

Kane starts off the match as predicted with Rollins wanting nothing to do with Ambrose’s fury tonight. Ambrose tries to go after Seth but he quickly dodges his way around the ring and out of the lunatic’s clutches. Kane goes to work on Ambrose ensuring that he is wore down for Rollins to make his move in the match. Rollins takes advantage of the one sided handicap nature of this match and pounds on Ambrose with his boots and fists. He then tags in Kane to finish off Ambrose. But of course even a bit more of a beating courtesy of Kane isn’t quiet enough to keep Ambrose on the mat and he goes for a suicide dive on both Rollins and Kane. Ambrose begins to attack Rollins with his usual fury but is pulled from the ring by the big red monster. As Kane ensures no damage has been done to Rollins Ambrose rushes back into the ring wielding a chair. He ends up getting DQ’d by hitting Kane with the weapon. Rollins eats some of the chair as well but gets away as Kane deals with the out of control Ambrose.

It seems very clear that when these two get their hands on each other the match will be ever more explosive.

Raw (July 28th Edition)

Raw Digitals: Rollins vs. Jericho

Match Recap from WWE.com
“He’s still got it: Not only did Chris Jericho go move for move with the younger, nimbler Seth Rollins, the former Undisputed Champion may well have knocked off Mr. Money in the Bank if not for an unwelcome intrusion at the end of their first-ever collision. Though the veteran Jericho kept Rollins at bay in the opening moments, a well-timed dodge saw Y2J run headlong into the turnbuckle and left loopy for a lengthy beating by Rollins.
The Ayatollah of Rock ‘n’ Rolla repaid the favor, though, back-body dropping Rollins off the top turnbuckle and setting up an offensive run of his own that ended with The Aerialist unwittingly springboarding into the business end of a Codebreaker. The lights cut out at the moment of truth, however, and revealed The Wyatt Family in the ring moments later. Rowan & Harper wasted no time in attacking Y2J, feeding him to Bray Wyatt for a Sister Abigail that may well be a harbinger of things to come in their newly forged clash at SummerSlam.”
