Seth Rollins Announced for Survivor Series Team (WWE YouTube)
Fatal Five-Way Match (WWE YouTube)

Seth Joins the Survivor Series Team & Kevin Owens pins Jericho to win the Fatal Five-Way Match
Can Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns coexist? Well, they’re gonna have to: The Architect was officially added to the assembled 5-on-5 Traditional Survivor Series Men’s Elimination team alongside Reigns, Jeri-KO and Braun Strowman in Raw’s opening moments. Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon provided Rollins with “assurances” to lure him onto the team and tried to stoke the inter-show rivalry by implying Team Raw’s jobs were resting on the outcome of the match. But Owens and Jericho instead decided to poke and prod Rollins and Reigns relentlessly to keep them in line.

The former Shield brothers decided to whoop on their enemies in response, at least until Strowman took Rollins and Jericho out. Unwilling to lose her team to infighting, Stephanie gave the five Survivor Series team members a chance to work out their aggression in a Fatal 5-Way Match in Raw’s main event. That Kevin Owens won the Fatal 5-Way among Raw’s male Survivor Series competitors wasn’t necessarily surprising, per se — OK, given that Braun Strowman kind of wrecked everyone for 10 minutes, it was a little surprising. What’s surprising was who KO pinned to do it.

In a match that initially began with a Strowman rampage, it took the combined efforts of Jeri-KO, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to finally get The Gift of Destruction out of the ring. And at that point, Rollins & Reigns joined forces again to keep the big man at bay.

Jericho and Owens re-joined the fray just in time to break up a Shield-esque Double Powerbomb to Strowman, focusing their efforts on The Big Dog in particular. Rollins broke out the big move of the match by power-bombing Jericho through both a prone Strowman and the table beneath him, and very nearly won the match by Pedigreeing Jericho, but Owens stole the win in a most unusual way. After Owens had super-kicked Rollins out of the ring, Reigns clocked him with a Superman Punch, and The Prizefighter toppled onto his fallen buddy to inadvertently score the win. To be fair: Friends don’t let friends lose matches.

Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens – Clip (WWE YouTube)
Seth Rollins vs. Kevin Owens – Full Match (Dailymotion)

Kevin Owens def. Seth Rollins (with the help of Chris Jericho)
The Kevin Owens Show has survived its one-off episode in Hell to roll on for at least another night, as the WWE Universal Championship both arrived and left Boston in the clutches of The Prizefighter, while Seth Rollins was left empty-handed yet again. Though, to be entirely fair, the third-act twist wasn’t entirely due to the merits of The KO Show’s namesake, as a most unexpected guest star crashed the Cell.

In case you couldn’t guess, that was Chris Jericho, who made his presence felt after Rollins gritted and grounded his way into position to win the match. That in and of itself was a miracle after KO snuffed out Rollins’ early showing by targeting The Architect’s back, ripping off Rollins’ Kinesio tape before savaging him all across the cage. Rollins was able to keep himself in the fight, but when Owens accidentally blasted one of the officials in the face with a fire extinguisher, Jericho took advantage of the briefly open Cell door to lock himself inside and pocket the key.

Rollins quickly dispatched Jericho by sending him crashing into the Cell wall, but the mere presence of The Ayatollah of Rock ’n’ Rolla left him at an insurmountable disadvantage. Even though he was able to power through his brutalised back to powerbomb Owens through a pair of tables, he couldn’t stop Jericho from hauling the ref away before the pinfall could be counted. And, although he was able to briefly chase Jericho down, he wasn’t able to stop Jeri-KO from ultimately uniting and bringing two steel chairs into the match. And once Owens power bombed him through those two chairs with Jericho watching on, Rollins wasn’t able to do much of anything

Seth Rollins def. Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens
Try though he did, Seth Rollins wasn’t able to tear Kevin Owens and Chris Jericho apart before the main event Triple Threat Match by stealing the “List of Jericho.” But he did one better and pinned both of them at the same time. Initially, things had been going swimmingly for the two best friends, who ganged up and teed off on the helpless Rollins. The Architect found himself set up on the top rope for a double-superplex, but Rollins simply slipped down the turnbuckle, executed a textbook double-powerbomb of Jericho and Owens, and pinned them both to the mat simultaneously.

He paid dearly for the feat, though, as Jeri-KO mugged The Architect after the match and threw him shoulder-first into the steel steps. Once Jericho had departed the stage and Owens was left atop the ramp by himself, Rollins struck back, fighting through security to initiate a brawl with the WWE Universal Champion. He paid dearly for that, too, as Owens seized control of Rollins and executed his patented apron powerbomb. Hell in a Cell awaits, and for all his bravado, Rollins goes into the match with a distinct disadvantage: Unlike Mick Foley in 1998, he’s already broken in half.

Seth Rollins vs. Chris Jericho – Main Event (WWE YouTube)
Match Video – Full (Dailymotion)

Seth Rollins def. Chris Jericho (Keeps one on one match vs. Kevin Owens at HIAC)
Last night, SmackDown LIVE’s pay-per-view No Mercy put on a show-stealing Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Championship. Raw, it appears, will not be able to mount one of its own at WWE Hell in a Cell, since Chris Jericho failed to defeat Seth Rollins and win his way into a WWE Universal Championship that will now be contested inside the Cell itself. That’s got to sting for Raw Commissioner Stephanie McMahon’s competitive instincts, but it’s also got to sting for Jericho, who would have been a very real threat to his “best friend” Kevin Owens’ title had he been able to win the match.

One Superstar who isn’t upset? Seth Rollins, who gets to keep KO one-on-one and receives a momentum boost in the process. The victory was made even sweeter by the fact that The Architect had to battle back from the beating Jericho put on his recently injured ribs. Even a behind-the-ref superkick from a ringside Owens wasn’t enough to keep “The Man” down, as Rollins took out KO with a suicide dive and felled Jericho with an inside-cradle reversal of the Walls of Jericho. Owens didn’t wait to put a beating on Rollins after the match, but Jericho was quick to both save KO from a Pedigree and, ultimately, take one of his own while Owens, again, did nothing to stop it.

Seth Rollins Interview with Michael Cole (WWE YouTube)
Seth Interrupts Owens & Jericho vs. New Day (WWE YouTube)
Stephanie McMahon Confronts Seth Backstage (WWE YouTube)
All of Seth’s Segments from Raw – Full Video (Dailymotion)

Seth Rollins Backstage Interview with Michael Cole
Seth Rollins had some choice words for Kevin Owens in the before Raw interview with Michael Cole. He restates the fact that he thinks Kevin’s “Redesign, Replace” slogan is a joke and that he plans to take apart the new era of Raw piece by piece, beginning with Owens and the Universal Title of course. Seth says that everyone should know already that he isn’t replaceable.

Seth Interrupts Jericho & Owens vs. The New Day
It was going swimmingly for Jeri-KO for a while. Facing Xavier Woods (who made The List of Jericho twice in one night and subbed for a stitched-up Kofi Kingston) and Big E, the self-proclaimed best friends were firing on all cylinders. At least, until Seth Rollins appeared atop the ring and Woods nailed KO with an enzuigiri. A reeling Owens tagged Jericho and, once Woods was trapped in the Walls of Jericho, Rollins distracted The Ayatollah of Rock ’n’ Rolla, allowing New Day to pounce with the Midnight Hour. Owens, for his part, barely even waited for the bell to hit the road, and didn’t interfere when Rollins nailed Jericho with a Pedigree. Some friend he is.

Seth is Confronted by Stephanie McMahon Backstage
Following his taste of revenge against Chris Jericho, a cheerful Seth is approached by Stephanie McMahon. She comes to question his behavior and the fact that he isn’t supposed to even be at Raw, given his injured condition. Seth simply shrugs her off and even acts non-nonchalant when Stephanie tries to get into his head; she repeats several times that he is alone with no one now to help him. Seth doesn’t seem too concerned and has no intentions of listening to Stephanie any longer. He says if she won’t give him a rematch, he will make her life hell. He tells her she lost the right to tell him what to do when Triple H made the second worst decision of his life (to betray Seth). When questioned as to what Triple H’s worst decision was, Seth tells the first lady of WWE Triple H’s biggest mistake was marrying her. Seth glares in her face and storms off, making it clear he will not rest until he gets yet another chance to take down the new era.
